FLEA INFESTATIONS

Get rid of flea infestations with the help of Progressive Pest Management

Fleas are annoying insects that can bother your family, including your pets and cause all kinds of health problems. If a flea infestation breaks out in your home, chances are you’re going to start noticing flea bites.

Fleas carry all sorts of viruses and bacteria that can cause infections. In the past, fleas were responsible for spreading such diseases as bubonic plague and typhus. Whilst this isn’t so much of a risk today, it doesn’t mean fleas can’t harm you.

The health of you and your family is in danger if there are fleas in your home, not to mention that your pets suffer too. That is why you need to get rid of them as soon as you see signs of a flea infestation.

Treating flea infestations in your home

Once we confirm the flea infestation, we will head straight to eliminating it from your home. The process of flea infestation control involves treating the infestation with either chemicals or natural solutions. The latter might be better if you allow pets inside your home. This type of solution will not compromise their health, no matter how small they are.

Our team will destroy all the fleas in your home, as well as their eggs and pupae which would otherwise turn into fleas a few weeks later. The process will get rid of all the fleas that might be in your home. However, you need to tackle the cause of it. If your pet has fleas, you need to treat them as well. Our flea infestation team can’t do this for you but can give you some friendly advice.

Preventing future flea infestations

Fleas can infest your home many times a year. Because they multiply at a very fast rate, an infestation can happen very quickly. That is why the key is not simply treating the infestation, but preventing it from happening. We can control your flea infestation from time to time when they appear, however it’s more effective to prevent infestations from occurring in the first place.

One of the easiest ways to prevent flea infestations is to regularly give your dog a bath or use flea-prevention solutions like Frontline Plus. This is because pets like dogs and cats are the most common carriers of fleas due to their thick fur.

You also need to make sure there are no fleas in your furniture. This is rather easily done by vacuuming on a regular basis. It is also advisable to treat furniture and floors with household borax or similar solutions. This way not only will you prevent fleas from appearing, but other pesky insects as well!
