Protect yourself, and the environment with our bee and wasp removal services

It is easy to overlook or even forget just how important a bee is to the very existence of the human race. It is estimated that about a half of all the plants are pollinated by bees here in Brisbane and all over the world. This is not to forget the hundreds of tons of honey they make every year. Wasps also play a critical role of preying on many of the parasites that damage crops.

Indeed, bees and wasps are important contributors to the very diet that we humans so much enjoy and it’s important that the control of these insects doesn’t resort to simply destroying them.

However, if you have ever been stung by a bee, you have a pretty good idea as to how painful the experience is. The pain is even worse if you have been stung by a wasp, particularly the mud daubers or cicada killer. Hundreds of people die around the world each year from being stung. Many of the people who die from being stung is due to and allergy to the poison found in the stings.

We are the bee and wasp experts who will help you get rid of the swarm of bees that has invaded your backyard. We are also experts at helping you get rid of any wasp nests inside or outside your house. Because we have been in the pest control and extermination business for over 30 years, we know exactly how to remove any type of invading wasps or bees without simply destroying them.

What should you do when you find a colony of bees or wasps?

Don’t put your life in danger by trying to destroy the paper ‘house’ that wasps have built. Whenever you find a nest of wasps or a swarm of bees around your home, just call us and we will carefully remove the invaders without jeopardising your family’s health. Remember that colonies pose a serious danger to you especially if you disturb them with a stick or fire.

Wasps will usually make nests on trees, shrubs or inside your home. Such nests are made from grey paper which is very light and which can easily hang on almost anything. Wasps can be predatory, while others are parasitic. Predatory wasps kill and consume other insects as well as other animals which they often feed to their larvae. Parasitic wasps typically lay
their eggs in the bodies of living creatures like caterpillars or spiders. The larvae feed on the still-living host.

Some wasps are aggressive species and can sting when threatened. Unlike honey bees, wasps often are capable of stinging multiple times.

Bee Swarms

You might find a cluster of bees hanging on a branch of a tree. The most well-documented and encountered bee swarms are those of honey bees. Typically, honey bee swarms are not a major threat, unless when dealing with Africanized honey bees. The bees do not have a nest or young and, therefore, are less defensive. However, they will sting if provoked.

Swarming involves a contingent of workers and a queen departing the original colony. The swarm typically gathers at a resting site, often in a tree, after leaving the colony. Scouts are sent to find a new location, such as in a log or other cavity. Once a suitable location is found, the swarm will relocate to the site and begin to nest.

Because bees will do everything to protect their queen and because they are out in the open, they often pose serious danger to you and your family. The best thing to do is call a trusted bee expert immediately. We will remove the bees and find a safe hive for them to live.

Controlling bees and wasp invasions in Brisbane

While bees and Wasps can benefit the environment in many ways, it is inconvenient and possibly dangerous to let a hive thrive near your home. It is important to properly identify the particular species living near your home, as bees are often mistaken for wasps due to their similar physical characteristics. There are different elimination processes for wasps and bees, so effective treatment relies upon proper identification.

When using any method of  control, it is also necessary to know effective application strategies, as well as the limitations and dangers associated with each method. In many regions, special licenses are required to treat infestations. The only way to rid your home of bees or wasps is to remove the hive entirely. This precarious task requires the correct tools and strategy. For safety and efficiency purposes, a pest control expert should be consulted before any bee control technique is attempted.
